Coping Skills Tool Box Series

An event every week that begins at 7:00pm on Tuesday, repeating until February 26, 2019

These 7 events are a series of 1 hour workshops focusing on coping skills, tools and strategies. See descriptions below. The first session is free as an introduction to the 6 other sessions. After which each session is $25.00 per person per session.

– 7 sessions regular total cost: $175.00 per person
– 6 sessions plus 1 free session $150.00 per person
– Attend all 7 sessions – $125.00 per person
– Attend 6 sessions – $135.00 per person

Payment required at each session. Discount settled at the end of session 7.

Weekly Schedule:

Week 1 (Free) Tuesday January 15, 2018 7pm to 8 pm –
Coping and Dealing With Stress – We will be looking a variety of strategies to deal with everyday stress. I will then introduce the following weeks which will provide tools and ideas to help with de stressing. All weeks are optional, but it would be ideal to attend the first session as an introduction to the others.

Week 2 ($25.00) Tuesday January 22, 2018 7pm to 8 pm-
Goal Setting and Achievement: We will be discussing SMART goals and SEED goals. The focus on this session will be understanding how goal achievement can help manage stress. We will discuss common barriers that prevent us from achieving our goals and look at ways we can overcome those barriers.

Week 3 ($25.00) Tuesday January 29, 2018 7pm to 8 pm
Mandala Art De-stressing – This is a great way of learning to deal with stress, anxiety and depression. We will focus on how using colours and shapes can work as a method of meditation and visualizing things that are going on inside and placing them in front of us. (Art Supplies provided)

Week 4 ($25.00): Tuesday February 5, 2018 7pm to 8 pm
Naikan Therapy – This workshop will be focusing on a writing/thinking tool that can help us refocus our perspectives in seeing how connected we are to the people and things around us. It is a way of experiencing gratitude for the gifts we receive and give to those around us.

Week 5: ($25.00) Tuesday February 12, 2018 7pm to 8 pm Mindfulness Workshop – We will be looking at some meditation practices that will help us get grounded and experience the present while learning how to be comfortable in our bodies during difficult times.

Week 6: ($25.00) Tuesday February 19, 2018 7 pm to 8 pm
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy Skills – We will look at how some basic CBT skills can help us understand the mind, body, emotion connection. We will learn how changing our thinking patterns can alter the consequences of how we think, and positively influence our emotions, thoughts and physical responses.

Week 7: ($25.00) Tuesday February 26, 2018 7pm to 8 pm
Self-Infused Creative Writing Workshop – This is a writing tool that makes use of metaphors and symbols to transform personal problems into fictional stories and characters as a way of being able to take control of those problems and use creativity as a way of trying to find understanding, solutions and resolutions.
